ALEXA KENNEDY

ALEXA KENNEDY walks down the streets of New York City with her headphones on full blast (because it makes life feel cinematic), looking up at the world (because she’s a dreamer- and because she’s short), and a coffee in her hand (because trust me, she needs it). Can you blame her? Having grown up an only child, Alexa was always in her own little world. Like many only children, she was a weird kid and very quiet. One day, her best friend Coco decided to delve into the world of children’s theater and like any weird, quiet side-character kid, Alexa followed right behind her. Thanks Coco. Ironically Coco quit soon after, but for Alexa, years of children’s theater and high school productions followed.

She went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Screenwriting, where she fell in love with television writing and ended up writing a few pilots of her own, her favorite being Student Body (which essentially was inspired by two of her favorite things Scream and Friends). After earning that degree, she proceeded to work around Los Angeles as a PA on sets, casting internships, and of course, the obligatory waitress jobs. At her PA job one day, she cried on the phone to her mom about the absolute misery and agony of her work life (as one does). That night, she went home and applied to The Actor’s Studio Drama School MFA Acting Program on a whim. After having not acted in years, submitting an audition was like speaking a new language, but thankfully, she got in.

She’s now in her last year of her MFA program, where she has completely returned into the little dreamer bopping around like her child self, except now with a little more height and much better music taste. When she’s not in rehearsal, you can find Lexi walking her little dog Tito, who she likes to believe is a weirdo only child just like his mother.
